Tepla® PEEK

Tepla® PEEK, with outstanding properties, is a kind of special engineering plastics that can be used at high temperatures. Compared with other special engineering plastics, Tepla® PEEK is resistant to a high temperature up to 260℃, and its characteristics include self-lubrication, chemical corrosion resistance, flame retardancy, exfoliation resistance, wear resistance, anti-radiation, and super good mechanical function.

Tepla® PEEK performance comparison of different grades
Tepla® PEEK has excellent temperature resistance, mechanical properties and chemical properties. It is often used in chemical, automotive, aerospace, transportation and other fields where high strength, high precision, high wear resistance is required. A wide range of high temperature specialty materials are used. Through modification, Xinfuda can provide customers with a variety of properties of Tepla® PEEK materials to meet your multiple performance portfolio needs. The figure below is a comparison of the properties of Tepla® PEEK with the base resin after adding 30% glass fiber, 30% carbon fiber and adding carbon fiber, graphite and PTFE.




Comparison of heat distortion temperature between Tepla® PEEK and other high performance materials

The temperature resistance of a certain type of material can be judged by measuring the heat distortion temperature, and when the heat distortion temperature is reached, the sample will undergo some deformation.
 
Tepla® PEEK is a class of high temperature specialty plastics with outstanding temperature resistance. It has a heat distortion temperature of over 300 ° C (572 ° F) and maintains stable mechanical and chemical properties within the temperature tolerance range. By modifying Tepla® PEEK, Xinfuda engineers have obtained heat distortion temperatures similar to those of TPI specialty materials, making them easy to handle complex applications in higher temperature environments. The figure below shows the heat distortion temperature of Tepla® PEEK after adding 30% glass fiber and 30% carbon fiber modification and the heat distortion temperature of other high temperature special plastics after adding 30% glass fiber modification. The figure shows Tepla®. PEEK has an obvious temperature advantage.

Testing tensile strength can determine whether a particular type of material is suitable for use in the manufacture of structural components. By testing the tensile strength of different grades of Tepla® PEEK at elevated temperatures, it can be determined whether Tepla® PEEK materials are suitable for the manufacture of mechanical components that are subjected to high temperatures or continuous use at elevated temperatures. The following figure is a comparison of the flexural strength curves of Tepla® PEEK pure material, 30%, 40% glass fiber modified and 30% carbon fiber modified material after heating. It can be seen from the figure that Tepla® PEEK maintains stable mechanical properties over a wide temperature range.
