After two years of technical research, NFD researchers successfully overcome the problems of fiber interface integration and enable NFD to achieve cornering overtaking in fiber reinforced plastics. Structural reinforced plastics (SRPs) are composites based on resins, reinforced with fibers (glass fibers, carbon fibers, aramid fibers, stainless steel fibers, etc.), minerals (calcium carbonate, carbon black, silicon carbide, talc powder, kaolin, graphite, etc.). The mechanical properties of reinforced composites, such as tensile strength, tensile modulus, flexural strength, impact strength and so on, Hardness, thermal deformation temperature, shrinkage and other physical properties have been greatly improved. Now they are mainly used in mechanical structural components to achieve the goal of lightweight. NFD has provided a large number of solutions to replace steel with plastics for customers by strengthening the structure, and has solved various problems. Reinforcement materials, like fibers in trees and steel bars in concrete, are important components of composite materials. Thanks to the application of new technology, the NFD traditional glass fiber has been significantly improved, which makes the material more cost-effective, and provides favorable conditions for the replacement of steel with plastic indicators. Experiments show that the use of new technology to produce PA + 55GF plastic , Tensile strength up to 300MPA, the strength exceeds ordinary carbon fiber reinforced materials.

Fiberglass reinforced plastics can improve the strength and heat resistance of plastics. When the content of fiberglass reinforced plastics is up to 60% for NFD Hepla® H3000, the surface quality of materials is still high. Properties of glass fiber: density: 2.4-2.8g/cm3, tensile strength: 3-4.6GPa (2-3 times of high strength steel), modulus of elasticity: 70-110GPa (equivalent to modulus of aluminium and titanium alloys). Glass fiber characteristics: Non combustion, non-corrosive, high temperature resistance, high tensile strength, low elongation at break, good chemical stability, good electrical insulation performance. The disadvantage is that it is not wearable and brittle.

Carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) have the characteristics of high strength and modulus. The strength of special modified Nylon materials reinforced by high performance CFRP can reach 320 MPa and the tensile elastic modulus can reach 35 000 MPa. Carbon fiber is a kind of continuous filament material with very fine diameter. Its diameter ranges from 6 to 8μm. It can take into account both the properties of carbon fibers and matrix and become an engineering structural material with better comprehensive properties and functional materials with special properties. It is widely used as structural materials and high temperature and ablation resistant materials because of its light weight, high strength, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, excellent thermomechanical properties.

 

 

Aramid fiber is a kind of high-tech special fiber. It has excellent mechanical properties, stable chemical properties. Its full name is Aromatic Polyamide Fiber, is a new type of high-tech synthetic fiber. It has super high strength, high modulus, high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, light weight and other excellent properties. It also has good insulation and aging resistance, and has a long life cycle.

 

Properties of aramid fibers: low density; high specific strength (higher than carbon fibers and boron fibers); high specific modulus, lower than carbon fibers and boron fibers; good toughness, impact resistance, good processability; thermal stability, fire resistance, insoluble, self-extinguishing materials, long-term use in vacuum at 160℃, - 60 ℃ is not brittle. It has good chemical resistance (not strong acid and alkali); fatigue resistance, wear resistance, electrical insulation, electromagnetic wave transmission. It is sensitive to ultraviolet radiation. Shortcomings of aramid fibers: poor light resistance, photodegradation, mechanical properties degradation and fading when exposed to visible and ultraviolet light; poor solubility; low compressive strength; strong hygroscopicity; great changes in fiber properties after hygroscopicity.
